A cultural symbol for reflection, not a fixed definition.
Aveni uses Li Chun, not January 1. On the exact Li Chun date, birth time, location and time zone can affect the result.
How the Chinese Zodiac year is calculated
The Chinese Zodiac assigns each year an animal in a repeating 12-year cycle. Traditional BaZi and solar-calendar practice uses Li Chun, the beginning of spring, as an important year boundary. This is why people born in January or early February may belong to the previous animal year.
Chinese Zodiac FAQ
Why does my result differ from a January 1 calculator?
Many simple calculators switch animals on January 1. Traditional systems often use Li Chun, which falls around February 4 and can change slightly by year.
What does my animal mean?
The animal is a cultural symbol and reflection prompt. It is not a fixed definition of your personality or destiny.
